Tanya “Mema” Holmstrom
Tanya was a fun, loving, caring and strong mother, mema, daughter, sister, cousin, neighbor and friend. She was a devoted grandmother who loved spending time and buying gifts for her grandchildren. Tanya loved her children dearly and she did her very best at being a Mom. She was a proud Mom! She would do anything for anybody without them even asking. She had love for everybody, even the ones who did her wrong. Tanya had a heart of gold and her love could never be replaced.
Her hobbies were arts & crafts, poetry, bingo, listening to music (especially throwbacks) and making jewelry. She was always known for her warm, caring heart, positive attitude and goofy personality. She loved to make people laugh. Her animals and her babies were all very connected. My brother and I are going to make sure our mother’s spirit live on thru her fur babies.
Tanya is survived by her two children, Jaylee and Robby; her mother, Linda Holmstrom; four brothers, Jeremy, Jesse and Jerome Pratt and Ricky Avery; two grandchildren, Mercutio and MelMel; the love of her life, John Kopack; her fur babies, Foxy, Jack, Mary and Freddy; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Private services will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Delaney Greabell Adydan Funeral Home, 241 Kinne Street, East Syracuse, followed by interment in Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
As children loving their toys
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God,
Because he was and is my friend.
But instead of leaving Him
In peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
In ways that were and are to the unknown.
At last, I snatched them back and cried.
“How can you be so slow, my child” he said,
“What can I do?”
“You never did let go!!”
