Sandra L. (DeLucas) Hooser, 69, affectionally known as “Queen” passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on July 28th, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Queen was born in Phoenix, NY to the late Angelo and Jean (Maione) DeLucas. As a teenager she moved to Syracuse, where she met the love of her life Peter. Queen was a devoted wife, loving mother, kindhearted friend and a homemaker who dedicated her life to her children and family. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren sharing with them all of her knowledge and stories. She was very passionate about capturing and sharing photos of joyous moments in the lives of her family and friends. Queen would never turn down a trip to the casino, always “breaking even”. During her illness our Queen showed us the truest and most dedicated love one could give to another by fighting so vigorously for her family.
Queen is survived by her loving husband of over 51 years, Peter; children, Shelly Dauer (Andy), Peter (Janine) and Joseph (Sarah); seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Ann (Mal) Merritt, Louie (Denise) DeLucas, Michele (Al) Zinkovitch; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Friday, July 31, 2020 from 4-7pm at the Delaney Greabell Adydan Funeral Home, 241 Kinne Street, East Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 1st, 2020 at 9am at St. Matthew’s Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
