It is with profound sadness that the family of Matthew S. Pedzick announce his peaceful passing on December 22, 2021 at the age of 85
He will be remembered by his loving companion, Patricia Collins; his children, Matt Pistol Pedzick (Sue) and Loretta Buck (Brad); his grandchildren, Bradley Buck (Jessica), Brennan Buck and Chelsea Buck; great-grandchild, Bradley Buck; and his brother. Stanley Pedzick. He will also be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends and Maureen Race who will always hold a special place in his heart.
Always an avid dog lover, he leaves behind his dogs Turbo and Rosie who will miss him greatly.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Kathleen Pedzick (Moore); parents, Matthew Pedzick and Sophie Pedzick (Lesicki); and precious granddaughter, Lindsey Brown.
Matt graduated from Eastwood High and promptly joined the United States Navy. He was employed by the United States Postal Service for 35 years as a carrier and retired as The Post Master of Bridgeport. Once retired he worked at Arc of Onondaga and St. Francis convent as a security officer.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Delaney Greabell Adydan Funeral Home, 241 Kinne Street, East Syracuse.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday December 29 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew's Church in East Syracuse. After Mass, interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Minoa.
As Matt was a devoted dog lover, donations can be sent to Helping Hounds Dog Rescue, 7268 Caswell Avenue, North Syracuse NY 13212.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Fahey (Loretto) for their care and compassion and also Dr. Nardone who showed compassion for the many years he cared for him.
