Mark C. Spelman

January 26, 1957 ~ June 2, 2022 (age 65)

On Thursday, June 2, 2022, the world lost one hell of an amazing guy.  Mark C. Spelman, 65, of East Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly at home with family at his side.

He was a 1975 graduate of East Syracuse-Minoa High School, where he met the love of his life, Nadine Krukowski. They were high school sweethearts and married June 19, 1976. They were each other’s rock through everything that life brought their way. In his younger years, Mark loved playing co-ed softball and bowling alongside his wife, watching SU basketball, and being surrounded by his many friends and family.  Mark worked at various places over the years and truly made connections with everyone he came into contact with. He worked previously at Reynolds and Backus Ford, Heavy Duty Parts, Newcomb Ford, Genesee Ford, Sterling, and ended his working career running his business, Dealer Parts, with his wife. He was involved in the Ford Heavy Truck Parts Industry for over 40 years and took great pride in being the “guy people went to”.  People trusted him and knew he would always take care of them.

Mark was a phenomenal husband, father and grandfather who was devoted to supporting his family. His grandkids were the joy of his life and being “Grandpa” was one of his biggest accomplishments.

Mark was predeceased by his parents, George and Ann Spelman; his in-laws, Brub and Shirley Krukowski, who loved him as their own; his brothers, Tommy and Jimmy; his sister, Janine; and his nephews, Tod and John.  Mark leaves behind his wife, Nadine; daughter, Danielle (Christopher) Hudson; son, Christopher Spelman; his beloved grandchildren, Nadia, Isaiah and Talia Hudson, Robert White and Abbigayle Davis Spelman; his sister, Susan (Glen) Middagh; his nieces, Marianne, Jill, Lindsey, Robin and Kaitlyn; and his nephews, Scott, Corey and David and all of their children. He also leaves his 3 Great Danes, Koa, Kenya and Kaia, who endlessly annoyed him with their drinking, eating, barking and going out.

Mark would want you to remember him for his awesome sense of humor, his sarcastic wit, and his ability to offer help to anyone who needed a hand. Throw on a Beatles song, crank it up and rock out remembering what an amazing human Mark really was. His legacy will live on through the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, June 7 at 10 am at Delaney Greabell Adydan Funeral Home, 241 Kinne Street, East Syracuse.  Calling hours will be Monday, June 6 from 4-6 pm.  Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
