M. JoAnne Burgan, 83, daughter of Cecelia and Harold Burgan, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the Cottages at Garden Grove, after a brief illness. Joanne was a life-long resident of East Syracuse. She graduated from The Convent High School and received her Master’s Degree in education from Syracuse University. She was a teacher for the Syracuse City School District and worked for the East Syracuse Library

JoAnne is survived and will be missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Matthews Church in East Syracuse on Friday March 5th at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in DeWitt. There will be no calling hours
