Judith A. (Guckert) Sokolic Meccarielli, 83, of Mattydale, passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital with her son, David by her side. Born in Syracuse, New York on July 4, 1937, she was a former cheerleading coach, brownie leader, a former member of the Park Hill PTA and worked for Brennan Printing Company. She was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Dominick in 2001 and her daughter, Sheila Rodgers in 2019.
Judith is survived by her two sons, David Sokolic and Steven Sokolic; two daughters, Kimberly Sokolic and Stacey Fitzgerald; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 9:15 a.m. at Delaney Greabell Adydan Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Margaret’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on Monday, November 30, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 241 Kinne Street, East Syracuse. Mask and Social Distancing guidelines will be followed.
