It is with shattered hearts that the Benedict family announces that Joseph Thomas Benedict, 51, of Kirkville, formerly of East Syracuse, passed away suddenly on February 2, 2022.
Born February 3, 1970, he graduated from ESM in 1988. After attending Alfred University, he worked in construction and bridge painting before deciding on a local residential and commercial painting company, KSP Painting of Liverpool, where he worked for 20 + years.
He was happiest being on the water boating or riding his Harley with family and friends. Anyone who knew him loved his infectious smile and his fun and sincere personality.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Royal T. and Marie Benedict and Marion and Victor Dean; his stepmother, Roxane Benedict; his uncles, Richard Dean and Ronnie (Karen) Dean; his brother, Thomas R Benedict; and his nephew, Jameson Joseph Benedict.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Amy (Krisko); his son, Mason Benedict; his step daughter, Jessica (Tyler) Howd; his step grandson, Logan Howd; his mother, Sheryl (Mike) Podgorski; his father, Thomas Benedict; his brothers, Erik (Kelly) Dunn and Brandon (Dawn) Benedict; his sister, Dawn Benedict; his nephew and niece, Nolan and Brooke Benedict; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was fiercely protective of his privacy and honoring his last wishes there will not be any services. The family will hold a celebration of life in the near future.
