Jacob R. Larosche joined his loving wife “Patty” in their heavenly home on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Jacob was born to Jacob and Elisabeth Larosche, on August 4, 1932, in Peoria, Illinois. He graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University in 1953, after which, he proudly served his country in the Army for two years. During his career at General Electric, he met Patricia and they married on October 26, 1957. The couple was married for 60 years and lived most of their lives in East Syracuse, New York. It was there that they raised their family, retired, and enjoyed many adventures creating lasting memories. Jacob was not one to sit still. He loved the outdoors, camping and hiking in the Adirondacks and along the Erie Canal. Jacob and Patricia toured the wonders of our country through the states and into Alaska. Many were greeted along the paths of the Erie Canal by Jacob and his pups, while on his morning walks throughout the seasons of New York. Jacob could be seen in the bleachers at ESM and SU as his son, grandson and many family friends took to the field. His heart was always with Notre-Dame and they handed him a final gift with a win for this season’s opening game. Always with a positive attitude and an entertaining quip, Jacob would bring smiles to those he came across through his day.
Jacob is survived by his five children, Karen (James) Simko, Robert (Ann) Larosche, Michael (Patricia) Larosche, Lori (Dave) Lord, and David Larosche; his 7 grandchildren, Jacob, Marci, Karen Elizabeth, Cody, Chole, Jessica and William; and 1 great grandchild, Kenneth. He is the oldest of five leaving behind, Edward Larosche, Carl (Kathy) Larosche, Barbara Larosche and Ruth (Ron) Means. Many nieces, nephews and in-laws both Larosche and Stoddards. The licks and barks of 4 furry family members, Mona, Maxine, Kobe, and Miska. Who never missed a walk with Jacob.
Calling hours for Jacob will be at Delaney Greabell Adydan Funeral Home, 241 Kinne Street, East Syracuse, this coming Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Services will take place at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Minoa on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
As our father took an interest in supporting many causes and organizations, the family would ask that in lieu of flowers, like our dad, you find a cause that needs your help.
Dad, you guided us and brought us forward with your strength. You filled each day with love, and now you send us courage from your resting place. Xxoo
