On January 5th, 2021, Eugene E. ”Gene” Stadelman died peacefully with his family at his bedside.  Gene was born on August 30th, 1950 in Cortland, NY to his mother, Dorothy C Stadelman and father, Eugene G. Stadelman who predeceased him as did his sister, Evalee Hunter Rawles.

Gene is survived by his wife of nearly 51 years, Maureen Casey Stadelman of East Syracuse; and his sons, Paul M. Stadelman and his wife, Danielle D. Stadelman of Central Square and Trevor W....

On January 5th, 2021, Eugene E. ”Gene” Stadelman died peacefully with his family at his bedside.  Gene was born on August 30th, 1950 in Cortland, NY to his mother, Dorothy C Stadelman and father, Eugene G. Stadelman who predeceased him as did his sister, Evalee Hunter Rawles.

Gene is survived by his wife of nearly 51 years, Maureen Casey Stadelman of East Syracuse; and his sons, Paul M. Stadelman and his wife, Danielle D. Stadelman of Central Square and Trevor W. Stadelman and his partner, Steven Bigness of East Syracuse. He was “Pocca” to his grandson, Evan M. Stadelman, and Evan’s brothers Ian and Zachary Schroeder of East Syracuse.  He is also survived by his brothers, Eric W. Stadelman of Washington and Edwin E. Stadelman and his wife, Cynthia Stadelman of California.  His large extended family includes his sisters-in-law and their spouses, Paula (Peter) Cowling, Cortland NY, Jessica (Thomas Gebhardt) Casey, Delmar NY, Constance (Ricky) McAfee, Cicero NY, Faith Casey, Webster NY,  Erin (Philip) Potter, Toms River NJ, Noelle Feint, Cortland NY,  Shannon (Robert) Martin, Cortland NY and Sandie Phipps, Keene, NH.   His brothers-in-law and their spouses include James (Meg) Casey, Little Rock AR, Anthony Casey, Cortland NY and William Rawles, FL.   His mother-in-law, Joan C. Casey, his brothers-in-law Thomas Casey (Sandie Phipps) and Steven Feint predeceased him.   A few dozen nieces and nephews called him “uncle” and many, many people called him “friend”.

Gene attended Homer High School and graduated from Kemper Military School and College, Boonville, MO in 1968.  After marrying Maureen in 1970, Gene worked as a Tract Construction Supervisor for Oot Brothers, followed by many years as Plant Manager at Penny Curtiss Baking Co.  When the plant closed, he took his engineering and management know-how to C & S Companies, retiring as Construction Manager in 2019.

 Gene shared his love of golf and the outdoors with Paul and all things technology with Trevor.  In 2017, he added camping with Maureen to his list of hobbies and acquired a close circle of fellow camper friends. 

Airplanes and Air Shows were a passion. His love of music earned him opportunities to work at and attend many well-known band concerts – and he had the t-shirts to prove it!  He will be missed

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Delaney Greabell Adydan Funeral Home, 241 Kinne Street, East Syracuse.  A private funeral service will follow for the family due to current COVID restrictions.
