Obituary

With sadness, the family of Daniel “Dan” Cedrone, 72, announces his passing on February 29, 2020 following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

A graduate of North Syracuse High School, Dan proudly served as a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam as a helicopter gunner in the Tet Offensive in 1968. Following his tour of duty, Dan attended Pepperdine University and settled in southern California with his beloved Black Lab “Gunner”.

While there, he launched his career as a creative, talented upholsterer specializing in luxury car and boat interiors, and eventually moved his business, “The Secret Service Co.”, to his native Syracuse using the tagline “All our work is undercover”. He was particularly skilled at the restoration of antique furniture and vintage cars.

Dan will be remembered for his humor and love of great food, fine Scotch, and a good round of golf.

Dan is survived by partner, Linda Bennett; son, Donato Cedrone; mother, Metta Cedrone Crider; sister, Gail Capozzi; nieces, Marisa (Neil) Ackerman and Lauren and Alexa Capozzi; and great niece, Alice Olivia Ackerman. He is predeceased by his wife, Shirley Cedrone; father, Dan Cedrone; and brother-in-law, Thomas Capozzi.

Calling hours are Saturday, March 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Delaney Greabell Adydan Funeral Home, 241 Kinne Street, East Syracuse, followed by services at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Garden Cemetery with Military Honors.
