Bruce E. Stoddard, died on Saturday, October 9, 2021. Born July 31, 1936, Bruce was a lifelong resident of East Syracuse. He was a US Navy veteran. Bruce retired from Bossong’s Commercial Delivery Co. after 54 years of service as a truck driver and later dispatcher. Bruce was a proud member of the East Syracuse American Legion Post #359 for over 45 years and carried the title of Vice Commander and Commander for several years.
Bruce truly enjoyed being with his beloved wife and children while camping and fishing at River Forest Camp Ground.
He is survived by seven children, Timothy Stoddard, Terry Jo Malicek, Susan Coon, Christine Stoddard, Christine Stuper, Edward McCarthy and Patrick McCarthy; two brothers, Jack Stoddard and Erle Stoddard; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Bruce was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy Stoddard; a son, Gregory Stoddard; two sisters, Patricia Larosche and Shirley Fleming; and two grandchildren, Jeffrey Coon and Jessica Coon.
Services will be Wednesday, October 13 at 7 pm at Delaney Greabell Adydan Funeral Home, 241 Kinne Street, East Syracuse, followed by Naval Honors. Private entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 pm, prior to the service.
