Barbara J. Frederick, 78, of Syracuse, took her final lap and has crossed the finish line peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a short illness. Born in Mannsville, New York on September 11, 1941, Barbara was a stubborn but caring person who always put others first before herself. She was an avid NASCAR fan and her favorite driver was Tony Stewart. She loved her coffee, playing cards, video games and always enjoyed everyone’s company where she could spend hours talking and laughing about anything. During her younger years she took on many jobs to care for her family, she was a truck driver, cook and a registered nurse. Barbara was a special lady who is going to be deeply missed by many. She was predeceased by her son, R.J. Rielly Jr.,
Barbara is survived by her grandson, Michael B. Rielly of Syracuse; daughter, Lori Jean Rielly of Mississippi; special close friends whom she loved so dearly and considered her family, George and Loretta of Watertown, DJ Cooter, Beth Giangiobbe, Brian Forbes, Lynn Fronenberger, Kathy St. John, John M. (Christina Gilchrist) Forbes and their three children whom Barbara considered her grandchildren, Hannah M. Forbes, John M. Forbes Jr., and Lacey M. Forbes.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday February 6, 2020 at 6 p.m. at Lyncourt Wesleyan Church with Pastor Jimmy Doyle officiating. Spring Burial will be held in Weedsport Rural Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the church prior to the services; 2626 Court Street, Syracuse.
