Betty J. Fritcher

Betty J. (Gilkey) Fritcher, 88, life resident of East Syracuse, passed away Wednesday. She was a 1946 graduate of East Syracuse High School.  She was a bank teller for First Trust Bank, East Syracuse for many years.  In 1970, she started work as a secretary for Syracuse Piping Co. until her retirement.  She was a life member of the East Syracuse Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, serving as Treasurer for 49 years.  She was also a 50 year member of the American Legion Arthur Butler Post 359 Auxiliary.  Betty was an avid bowler in her younger years  and enjoyed her retirement years at her Summer home on Sandy Pond.She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Gary W. Fritcher, a son, Gregory L. Fritcher, and brother Charles R. Gilkey. 
 Surviving are her children, Gary E. of East Syracuse and Gail (Fred) Wilson of Tully, her beloved grandchildren, Ethan & Megan Wilson, Brothers, Edward (Sandy) Gilkey, Richard (Carol) Gilkey, both of East Syracuse, sister Joyce (Marty) Felicita of Syracuse, sister-in-laws Antoinette Gilkey of  Constantia and Anne Fritcher of North Syracuse, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
 Calling hours are Monday 4-7pm at Delaney-Greabell-Adydan Funeral Home, 241 Kinne Street, East Syracuse, with services to follow.
Private graveside services in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Dewitt.
