Nancy A. Bonn, 93, of East Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Saturday at her home. She was born Nazarene DeNoto to Samuel and Emilia DeNoto, immigrants from Salerno, Italy. She graduated Salutatorian from Vocational High School in 1943, where she was editor of the school newspaper “The Vocationalite” and was known by her pen name “Snoopin Nan”. After high school, she was employed by Carrier Corporation and married Joseph P. Bonn in 1948. As a military couple, they were stationed in New Foundland, Canada in 1952. In 1954 they moved to Fremont were she resided until her death. During that time she worked at Dey Brothers Dept. Store, volunteered at East Syracuse Meals on Wheels, was a member of the R.C.I.A at St. Matthew’s Church as well as Eucharistic Minister and volunteered at the food pantry. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Joseph. Surviving are her children, Joseph E. Bonn, Alan M. (Dawn) Bonn, Richard J. Bonn, Marilyn Bonn and Daniel Bonn; seven grandchildren - Justin Bonn, Melissa (Matt) Nissen, Kori (Eric) Harris, Andrew Bonn, Bradley Kreischer, Brittany Kadamus and Tara Bonn; six great grandchildren Alana Cornell, Tyler Cornell, Kiera Nissen, Matthew Nissan Jr., Hailey Harris and Hannah Harris; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday 8:30 a.m. at Delaney Greabell Adydan Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in St. Matthew’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated . Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 241 Kinne Street, East Syracuse.
