In addition to his family and his music, Rick also loved his cats, and had several that were very important to him, most recently Schultz and Dooley, his "boys".
Rick was predeceased by his parents; his siblings, Donald Alder, Robert "Stewart" Alder and wife, Sonia, and Mary Alder Frost and husband, Jacque; and cousin, George Alder.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Marjorie; her children, Adrienne (Patrick) Abear of Manlius and Robert Holmes of Fayetteville; four granddaughters; his son, Michael (Shawna) Alder and granddaughter Sheldon, of Charlotte, NC; sister, Elizabeth (Kenneth) Allen of Oneida; sister-in-law, Mary Alder; and many nieces and nephews. Rick was the youngest in his family of five siblings and was more like a cousin and good friend than uncle to his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who love him.
