John Louis McIntyre, 50 of Syracuse, NY passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 18, 2019. John (John-John, Johnny Mac) is pre-deceased by his mother C. Wendy (Usiatynski) McIntyre and father James Francis McIntyre, Grandparents (Casmir) Shirley Usiatynski who he loved dearly. Great Uncle John Usiatynski, whom he learned many all important life lessons from, Great Aunt Lorraine and Uncle Ray Ladner, whom he cared for until their deaths, and many other friends and family well before their time.
He leaves behind his support team of aunts, uncles, two sisters, a brother and two beautiful children; an amazing extended family along with loving friends from all phases of his full life.
John-John loved music; everything from Elvis to Led Zeppelin. John’s other love was his mountain bike. It was his transportation and his joy. He was an artist and a photographer as well as a collector and could not pass by a thrift store or garage sale without exploring their treasures. John’s sense of adventure, and maybe more importantly, his sense of humor will be missed by all.
There will be a calling hour from 5-6pm with a memorial service to follow on Friday, March 2, 2019 at Delaney Greabell Adydan Funeral Home in East Syracuse. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting contributions in order to give back to the community. We would like to purchase mountain bikes for those who complete rehabilitation programs here in Syracuse and contributions can be sent to The Keep It Rolling Bicycle Fund, C/O Jessi Felice, PO Box 2334 Homer, AK 99603.
