Helen (Sosnowski) Corbett, 91, passed away peacefully, in her home, surrounded by her family on the evening of July 27, 2019. Helen was born March 27, 1928, to Steven and Katherine Sosnowski. She was predeceased by her loving sisters, Marion Donovan and Carole Armani. Helen worked for the New York Central Railroad for over 20 years, where she met the love of her life, Bruce Corbett. They were married for over 53 years. Helen was an avid golfer, traveling with her husband all over the U.S., even venturing to Ireland and Scotland to play the game that brought them great happiness. Most days you could find them at local golf course, Wa-noa, where they made lasting friendships that meant the world to them. Some of her fondest memories were of golf outings in Florida, with her dearest niece, Carol (Babe) Brongo.
Helen is survived by her son, Daniel Corbett (Sandy Laurenti); and her daughter, Kathleen Corbett Duncan. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Daniel (Michelle), Sean and Kathryn, from cherished family member, Mary Kay Corbett; and was blessed to have three great grandchildren, Jacob, Alexander and Bryce; and one great-great grandchild, Leo.
Helen will be sadly missed by her family and friends who invite you to share in a celebration of her life on Saturday, August 3, 2019. The family will receive guests at 10 AM in the Church of Our Lady of Pompei/ St. Peter, 301 Ash Street, Syracuse, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11 AM.
