Harold Joseph Parkis, 65, of Fabius, NY, went home to be with the Lord on July 23, 2010, with his family by his side at St. Joseph's Hospital after a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis complications. Harold was a loving husband, father of three and grandfather to his 6 grandchildren of whom he was greatly proud of and will be greatly missed. Harold was born on July 29, 1944 to Margaret and George Parkis of Syracuse. He attended East Syracuse High School and enlisted in the Army in 1964. He received an Honorable Medical Discharge in 1965. He married Patricia (Holava) on July 24, 1965 and raised three beautiful children. Harold retired from CNY RTA CENTRO in 1999 where he worked as a First Class Transmission man and Weekend Supervisor for 33 years. He was predeceased by his parents, and sisters, Deloris and Geraldine. Harold leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 45 years, Patricia; his sons Harold Patrick(Kalypso) Parkis of Syracuse; Brian (Erika) Parkis of Constantia; and daughter Sandra Robinson of Fabius. His beloved grandchildren Shelby Robinson, Tristan "TJ" Lasinski, Mathew, Anthony, Josh, and Alex Parkis who will forever miss their "PAPA". Harold is also survived by his brothers Raymond (Lee) Parkis; George (Nancy) Parkis. His sisters Marion (Bob) Hayes; Leona (Richard) Crego; Rosie Paro and Judy Argus along with many nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday July 29 at 8:15 AM from the Delaney-Greabell-Adydan Funeral Home and 9:00 in St. Matthew's Church. Calling hours will be Wednesday July 28 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the funeral home, 241 Kinne St. East Syracuse. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery Lakeland.
