Cynthia Lee (Day) Garvey, 76, of East Syracuse, passed away peacefully at her home in The Bernadine. Cynthia was born and raised in East Syracuse and graduated from East Syracuse Central High School. Cindy went on to receive an LPN degree from Morrisville College and was a nurse at Community General Hospital. Cindy married Michael Garvey in 1960 and settled in the East Syracuse Community. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of East Syracuse and New Testament Baptist Church. Cindy was an avid Syracuse University fan and attended as many games she could. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, and will always be known for her sweet spirit. Her children always came first, and she was blessed to be loved by many. Cindy was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Michael, and her parents, George and Eleanor Day.
Cindy is survived by her three children, Mark Garvey of Baldwinsville, James (Katie) Garvey, and Gail Dempsey of East Syracuse; four grandchildren, Connor and Jenna Garvey of Baldwinsville, William Dempsey of East Syracuse, and Ryan Flaherty; her two sisters, Nancy Day Herrington and Judith Day Pisik; her brother, George (Anne) Day; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will consist of a private burial with her family.
